Bringing Together Divided Memory
a puppet show by the DAMÚZA studio on motifs of old Jewish tales from Rudolphine Prague. For children from 6 years. Limited number of seats, please make a reservation at brno@jewishmuseum.cz. Show duration 40 minutes.
In the form of video-interviews it captures the stories of people who were forced to leave their homes as a result of war and had to start a new life elsewhere. Special attention is paid to the cohabitation of Jews, ethnic Czechs, Germans and Slovaks, bilingual Moravians and Böhmisch before 1938 and their different experiences after the forcible transfer. Excerpts from the interviews are classified both based on biographical passages and by keywords such as physical locations, historical events and repeating types of experience to clarify their relationship within the narrative. The exhibition is on loan from the movement against xenophobia Antikomplex z.s.
